Marco Canepa is Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Genova, Italy. After receiving his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Genova, he completed a 4-year clinical fellowship in cardiology at the same institution, and subsequently a 3-year research fellowship on cardiovascular aging at the National Institute on Aging/NIH in Baltimore, USA. During the same period he served as research fellow at the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center of Excellence of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
His clinical, teaching and research activity is currently focused on heart failure and cardiomyopathies, with a particular focus on heart failure epidemiology, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiac amyloidosis. He is fellow and member of two committee of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology, author of more than 60 original publications on peer reviewed journals, member of the editorial board and active reviewer for international cardiovascular journals.
