Marco Barbanti MD

Marco Barbanti M.D. is interventional cardiologist at the Cardiac-Thoracic-Vascular Department and Transplant, Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Policlinico “G. Rodolico - San Marco” in Catania, Italy. He received his MD and was appointed as Research Associate at the University of Catania and completed his a fellowship in coronary and structural valve heart disease interventions at the St. Paul’s Hospital, University of British Columbia in Vancouver (Canada).

Dr. Barbanti is the recipient of the prestigious "Thomas J. Linnemeier Spirit of Interventional Cardiology Young Investigator Award" from the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, which has been delivered to him in 2013 (Washington DC, USA) for his clinical and academic achievements. In 2018, he attended the University of Zurich to earn the certificate of advanced studies in aortic structural interventions.

He authored 1 textbook as editor, 20 textbook chapters, and 280 peer-reviewed publications, and he delivered about 100 invited lectures in national and international meetings Marco Barbanti is member of the Executive working group of the Italian OBSERVANT 1 and OBSERVANT 2 studies, and the principal investigator of several multicenter international studies and collaborations, including the RE-ACCESS study, the European FAST-TAVI and the RE-DO TAVR Registry.
