Marcio Roberto Teixeira Nunes MS, PhD

Marcio Nunes is a Co-founder and CEO of Brazil Genomics, a company for biocomputational analysis mainling on virus genomes using integrated and automated pipelines. He is a Research collaborator in the Biomolecular Technology Laboratory at The Federal University of Para State. He is a Full Researcher in public health, at the Department of Arbovirology, Evandro Chagas Institute, Ministry of Health, Brazil (1998 to 2023).

Marcio research interest focused on the genetic characterization and evolution of arboviruses and zoonotic viruses, phylogeny, phylogeography, and the development of diagnostic tools. Researcher of Productivity of the National Council of Research (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico-CNPq) level 1C, member of the Peribunyavirus study group (ICTV), collaborated directly with the sequencing and characterization of 900 viral genomes. A total of 170 manuscripts published in National and international scientific journals.
