Marcio Kiuchi MD, MSc, PhD, FRSM, FHFA, FEACVI, FEHRA, FESC, ISHRF

Dr. Marcio Kiuchi, MD, MSc, Ph.D., ISHRF, FESC, FEHRA, FHFA, is a graduate of the University Estacio de Sá School of Medicine, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2003) and certified as a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in the same year by the Brazilian Medical Council. He trained in Cardiology at Federal Fluminense University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2009), and in Arrhythmias and Pacing at the Lagoa Federal Hospital, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2014). The Brazilian Medical Council certified him as a Specialist in both fields. In the academic area, he obtained his Master’s degree in Basic Sciences at the Rio de Janeiro Federal University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2007) and posteriorly his Ph.D. degree in Medical Sciences at Federal Fluminense University (2015). Further, he completed his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Invasive Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Elisabethinen Krankenhaus Linz of Medical University Innsbruck and Vienna, Linz, Austria (2017).

Recently, the European Society of Hypertension certified Marcio as Clinical Hypertension Specialist (2018); he also became an International Society of Hypertension Research Fellow (2018). In addition, the European Society of Cardiology, the European Heart Rhythm Association, and the Heart Failure Association recognized him as a Fellow (2018 - 2019). For the last decade, he has contributed to the treatment and research of diseases related to the sympathetic nervous system in various forms, such as hypertension, chronic kidney disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and catheter ablation for renal denervation. Currently, he is a member of the Dobney Hypertension Centre at The University of Western Australia.
