Doctor Marc Radermecker studied traditional humanities with a Latin-mathematics theme at the Collège Saint Servais in Liège and graduated from the University of Liège "summa cum laude" in 1988. He passed the "basic sciences and clinical" sections with 90%. sciences" of the FMGEMS exam and was recognized as a Specialist in Surgery on October 5, 1994. His training took place in Liège under the guidance of Professors N. Jacquet and R. Limet. It was supplemented by several years of training abroad. First in Paris at the Broussais Hospital, from 1992 to 1993 under the supervision of Professors Alain Charpentier and Jean-Noël Fabiani with the learning of complex adult cardiac surgery and the initiation of work essential to the development of an aggregation thesis. In 1995, he worked in London with Professors M. De Leval and J. Stark in pediatric cardiac surgery and occasionally followed training in cardiac morphology with Professor Robert H. Anderson at the Royal Brompton. He defended his aggregation thesis in 1997 on an original work entitled "Contribution to the Study and Applications of skeletal striated muscles transformed in cardiocirculatory assistance". He was responsible for pediatric cardiac surgery on the Citadelle site and works as a cardiothoracic surgeon, specializing in valvular pathology at the Sart Tilman University Hospital with several hundred operations annually. He was appointed Lecturer in Anatomy in October 2010 and became Professor of Morphology and Human Anatomy at ULiège in January 2017. His research subjects concern valvular pathology in the broad sense, in particular, myxoid degeneration of the valve mitral. This is a cross-disciplinary research at the Cardiovascular Giga and the connective tissue biology laboratory of the late Professor Lapierre, currently directed by Professor A. Colige. At the same time, he conducts research in Anatomy on themes related to head and neck anatomy and the thorax and actively participates in the development of educational initiatives within the Anatomy department of ULiège. He is involved in the training of young Belgian cardiac surgeons jointly with Professor P. Herijgers of the KUL, is part of numerous cardio-thoracic surgery associations, and is a reviewer for numerous journals. He is the author of more than 200 publications.
