Dr. Marc M. DeHart is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and serves as the Chief of Adult Reconstruction at UT Health San Antonio Texas. Dr. DeHart specializing in Adult Hip and Knee Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. After a Biology Degree from the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin, he obtained his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Virginia. After Orthopaedic Residency at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, he completed a Fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. While on active duty with the United States Air Force.

Dr. DeHart served as an F-16 Flight Surgeon for the 69th Tactical Fighter Squadron. With over 20 years of medicine has practiced in military, academic, small, and large group private practices. He has been involved in organized medicine to further the profession and volunteered service as a member of AAOS Board of Councilors, AAOS Communications Cabinet, and served in the Texas Orthopaedic Association presidential line as well as local committees of Hospital Peer Review, ASC Quality, and Process Improvement. He enjoys participating in medical education and has spoken nationally at the most successful Orthopaedic review course in the country - Miller’s Colorado Orthopaedic Review Course – for over 15 years.
