Marc K. Rosenblum MD

Dr. Rosenblum is a neuropathologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering he analyzes tissue samples taken during brain and spinal cord surgery in order to classify tumors based on their cellular characteristics and determine how aggressive they are likely to be. There are more than 120 recognized types of central nervous system tumors, so making a precise diagnosis is essential; the work he does in the laboratory — including molecular genetic assessments — guides treatment decisions.

His colleagues and he work alongside surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists from the Brain Tumor Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering to provide the best care for the many patients who come to us every year. He also, provide assistance to patients at other hospitals who want a second opinion on their pathology results. He joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in 1983. Over the years, he has been involved in dozens of clinical research trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering and has also collaborated in many national and international group studies. He has published more than 200 articles, book chapters, and abstracts.
