Marc Damelin received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Harvard University, where he studied nucleocytoplasmic transport and stress-induced changes in chromatin structure. He conducted postdoctoral research on stem cells and epigenetics at Columbia University Medical School as a Fellow of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. He joined Pfizer’s Oncology Research Unit in 2007 to help build a program in cancer stem cell research that was integrated with drug discovery. Currently he serves as the team leader for several therapeutic programs in the antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) space, and he leads translational research efforts to support the development of 3 clinical-stage compounds. In addition, his laboratory continues to pursue research in cancer stem cells and mechanisms of therapeutic resistance.
