Dr. Marc Alain Babi is a Professor of Neurology at Cleveland Clinic/Case Western Reserve University and serves as the Cleveland Clinic Florida, Neurological Institute - Cerebrovascular Center Director. In this role, Dr. Babi oversees the region’s programs in neurocritical care, stroke, neurohospitalist medicine, neuro-intervention, and cerebrovascular surgery. He also serves as Chair of Ethics for Cleveland Clinic Florida.

Dr. Babi is board-certified in Neurology (ABPN) and Neurocritical Care (ABPN, UCNS). He earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed residency training in Neurology at the University of Vermont, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training in Neurocritical Care at Duke University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Babi completed an Executive MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Dr Babi is the recipient of multiple honors and awards, such as the 2026 Cleveland Clinic Philanthropy Catalyst Grant Award, 2025 Cleveland Clinic Safety Award, 2025 Cleveland Clinic Nightingale Physician–Nursing Collaboration Award, the 2024 Cleveland Clinic Physician Excellence Award, the 2023 Neurocritical Care Society Presidential Citation Award, and the 2022 American Academy of Neurology Residency-Fellowship Director Award. He is also a recipient of the Alpha-Omega-Alpha Honor Society Award, Sigma-XI Scientific Research Honor Society, and University of Florida College of Medicine Exemplary Teacher Awards (2019, 2021).

Dr. Babi is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Neurocritical Care Society, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. His research focuses on systems-of-care integration, innovation in healthcare delivery, and clinical trials in hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke. He serves as principal investigator on multiple NIH-funded clinical trials in acute hemorrhagic and acute ischemic stroke.
