Manuel Espinoza S., MD, MSc, PhD, is a Professor of Public Health at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Scientific Advisor of the Institute of Public Health of Chile and Honorary Fellow in the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York. Manuel leads the Unit of Health Technology Assessment at the Centre for Clinical Research at the Catholic University of Chile. He is the current President of the Chilean ISPOR Chapter and President elect of the ISPOR Latin America Consortium. He has served ISPOR as member of the ISPOR Latin America Consortium Executive Committee and member of the Latin America Conference Program Committee. Manuel obtained his medical degree and a Master in Epidemiology, both from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He also holds an MSc in Biostatistics from the University of Chile and an MSc and PhD in Health Economics, both from University of York. His work has been focused on the development of methods to explore heterogeneity in cost-effectiveness analysis as well as the incorporation of social value judgments in decision processes. He has also conducted applied research in cost-effectiveness analysis in areas such as cardiology, neurology, liver diseases, oncology and diabetes. Manuel has served as advisor for the Ministry of Health of Chile and as independent consultant for public entities in Ecuador and Dominican Republic, on issues related to economic evaluations, health technology assessment and decision processes
