Mandeep Sawhney received the MD degree from the University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, in 1993 and an MS degree in clinical research from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA, in 2006. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard University, Boston, MA, USA, and co-Director of GI Endoscopy and the Director of Endoscopy Research, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA, USA. He has published more than 80 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. His clinical areas of interest are endoscopy for the pancreas and biliary diseases, achalasia, Barrett's esophagus, and gastrointestinal malignancy. Dr. Sawhney is a Fellow of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has served on several national committees, including a combined American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology task force that set national quality indicators for gastrointestinal endoscopy.
