Mahmut Ilker Yilmaz after graduating from Erzurum High School in 1988, and Mahmut ?lker Y?lmaz graduated from GATA Medical Faculty in 1994. Mahmut ?lker Y?lmaz, who completed his specialization in GATA Internal Medicine between 1997-2001, worked as an internal medicine specialist in the same clinic between 2001-2003. Between 2003-2006, he did his minor specialization in GATA Nephrology. "ERA-EDTA Fellowship" awarded by the European Society of Nephrology (European Renal Association - European Dialysis and Transplant Association -ERA-EDTA) in 2006Mahmut ?lker Y?lmaz, who was entitled to receive a scholarship, worked as a researcher in the Swedish Karolinska Institute Nephrology department for 1 year. Mahmut ?lker Y?lmaz, together with the research group he joined during his 1-year stay at Karolinska Institute, conducted studies to understand the mechanisms (Nitric oxide, adipocytokines, and endothelial dysfunction) that play a role in the development and progression of chronic kidney disease. Returning to Turkey in 2007, Mahmut ?lker Y?lmaz received the title of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor in December 2008, and Professor in 2015, in the GATA Nephrology Department. He has been working on epigenetic mechanisms since 2016. Currently, at Bilge Hayatlar Wellness Center He continues to serve as medical director. At the same time, the founder of the Center for Epigenetic Health Solutions, Prof. Dr. Mahmut ?lker Y?lmaz is working on correcting the mechanisms of Inflammation, Oxidative Stress, and Endothelial Dysfunction, which plays a role in the pathogenesis of chronic diseases that are frequently encountered in the world, with the right foods (Morinda Citrofolia, Alaska Blueberry, and Alaska Salmon).

prof. Dr. Mahmut ?lker Y?lmaz's main research topics are the detection of endothelial dysfunction and vascular calcification in chronic kidney disease, proteinuria, and kidney transplantation, and their relationship with inflammation, oxidative stress, nitric oxide metabolism, and adipose tissue.

The candidate is currently carrying out joint projects with Sweden and Italy and has the largest cohort in Turkey with a 4-year follow-up consisting of patients with chronic kidney disease (Stage 1-5). contributes to Turkey's having a say in the field of international Nephrology by conducting studies that reveal the extent to which inflammation and vascular calcification are responsible.

He was also responsible for the 'Clinical Nephrology and End-Stage Renal Disease department.

In 2009, he received the Eczac?ba?? Medical Incentive Award for 'Qualified research in the field of Nephrology', and again in 2009, “ADMA levels; proteinuria is associated with secondary amyloidosis and endothelial dysfunction. Roche Medical Research won the first prize, and in 2010 the Trust Medicine Awards in the field of Internal Medicine Sciences for his research titled 'Hemoglobin is associated with endothelial dysfunction in chronic kidney patients', Dr. Aysun Kucukel and Dr. Ahmet Küçükel were awarded the Young Investigative Medicine Award.

He is currently working in partnership with Sweden, Italy, the USA, Canada, France, and Spain. He is married to Candidate Pharmacist Hatice YILMAZ and they have two daughters named Nilgün Ece and Zeynep Peren.
