Mahmoud is the Assistant Director of Nursing for Oncology, Medical, Surgical, Al Wagan Hospital, and Regional Blood Bank at Tawam Hospital (UAE).
He graduated from the Makkassed National College of Nursing, Lebanon in 2001 with a Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing and he completed his Master degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dubai (RCSI-Dubai) in June 2010. He is an Oncology Certified Nurse by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS, USA).
Mahmoud chaired all the annual nursing sessions in the Emirates Oncology Conference from 2013 till today. He participated in a lot of activities to improve patient quality of care such as introducing the new appointment system in the oncology Clinic at Tawam Hospital (2010), introducing the new Medical Assessment & Planning Unit (MAPU) in 2017, End of life Outreach Nurse project (2017), Discharge project (2017-2018), Oncology Nurse Navigator program (2017) and Oncology Nurse Triage project (2018).
He also work with oncology nursing team at Tawam hospital to conduct number of oncology nursing researches such as improving oral chemotherapy compliance in Oncology Clinic (2017), improving patient experience with Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), Tawam Experience (2017) and Assessing the Patient Education needs of Thalassemia Patients taking Iron chelating factors, Experience of Tawam hospital adult hematology/oncology department in the UAE (2018).
