Dr. Maher Arabi is currently the head of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Ibn Sina Hospital and is the vice president of the Kuwaiti League Against Epilepsy (KLAE). After completing his Internal Medicine Residency at Makassed Hospital in lebanon, he joined the American University of Beirut Medical Center where he completed a 3 years fellowship in Neurology and a 2 years Fellowship in epilepsy under the mentorship of Prof. Ahmad Beydoun. During this period he actively participated in the still ongoing New Onset Epilepsy in Lebanon (NOEL) trial. After that Dr. Arabi Joined Ibn Sina Hospital in August 2012 where he established the First Epilepsy monitoring Unit in Kuwait and started performing Cortical mapping and electrocorticography. Since its establishment, more than 1700 patients were evaluated by the Epilepsy team. Dr. Arabi played a key role in building a solid program for epilepsy surgery and played a major role in many of the epilepsy surgeries performed for the first time in kuwait. Dr. Arabi has several publications in peer reviewed journals .
