Dr. Abidi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Transplant Infectious Disease Faculty at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She graduated from Dow University of Health Sciences in Pakistan and then completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago-Michael Reese Medical Center, followed by an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Rochester, a Geriatrics Fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University, & Transplant Infectious Disease Fellowship at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.

Her research interest is in cytomegalovirus-cell mediated immunity in Hematopoietic Cell Transplant Recipients and cytomegalovirus and frailty in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients. She is currently serving as a steering committee member of the American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT), Special Interest Group Transplant Infectious Disease. She has worked with the ASTCT covid-19 workgroup in the development of guidelines for the management of covid-19 in HCT and Cellular Therapy recipients and ASH-ASTCT covid-19 vaccine FAQs.
