Prof. Maciej Krzakowski, MD, Ph.Dis the Head of the Department of Lung and Chest Cancer of the Oncology Centre – Maria Skłodowska-Curie Institute in Warsaw. Since 1999 to date he has held the position of the national consultant in the field of clinical oncology. He is also the president of the Polish Society of Clinical Oncology and a member of numerous other scientific societies. He has specialization in clinical oncology and cancer radiotherapy.
His main professional interests are combined treatment of lung cancer and breast cancer, introduction of new methods of systemic treatment of cancer, hormonal therapy and supportive care in oncology. He is the author and co-author of 400 scientific papers published in Poland and abroad, and the editor and co-editor of 15 textbooks.
