M. S. SeshadriMBBS, MD, PhD, FRCP
Dr Seshadri received his MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College in 1972. He won several accolades, including the best out-going medical undergraduate of the year. He went on to get his medical degree from Christian Medical College (CMC) in 1977, also teaching there from 1977 to 2011. During that time, he also completed his PhD in Endocrinology from Sydney University in 1986. After that, he received his Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians degree from Edinburgh in 1994. While he was teaching at CMC, he established the Department of Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism in 1995 and served as Head of this department from 1995-2011. During his tenure, he personally guided over 50 theses for Internal medicine, Pediatrics, Endocrinology & Basic Medical Sciences. He continues to be involved in teaching at CMC currently.
He is also a visiting professor at KEM Hospital Mumbai & SGPGI in Lucknow. He has served as an examiner for MBBS, MD (General Medicine), DM (Endocrinology), Dip NB (Endocrinology), PhD(Endocrinology), Fellowship in diabetology for MGR Medical University, Mumbai University, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, PGI Chandigarh, Benares Hindu University, SGPGI (Lucknow), Karnataka Medical University & University of Calcutta. He has been published in over 100 national and international peer-reviewed journals and has given over 200 lectures & CME programs for the Indian Medical Association, Association of Physicians of India, Endocrine Society of India and in various Medical Colleges in the country. Currently, he is a member of the Taskforce on Stem-cell Research and Regenerative Medicine under the Department of Biotechnology and the research Committee of Karigiri hospital and research centre. Previously, he served as a member for the Human resource division of the Medical Division of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research.
