Associate Professor Lynne Jensen, Ph.D., RN, APRN, was named provider of the month by the Advanced Practice Providers, a council that provides a forum for discussion of issues (national, state, and institutional) relevant to the scope and standards of practice for advanced practice providers. Jensen, who also serves as the medical director for the Advancement of Women’s Health Primary Care Practice, earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Boston College, her master’s as an adult nurse practitioner from State University of New York at Buffalo, and her Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky.

Currently, Jensen is involved in two research grants; one focusing on transitions of care for patients with stroke from UK HealthCare to Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital. The other project, titled “An Innovative Approach to Provide SBIRT Training (IAST) for Health Care Providers,” involves simulation activities to teach nurse practitioner students to improve clinical skills related to substance use disorders.
