Dr. Lynette Johns is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry where she also completed a residency in cornea and contact lenses. She won the national Dr. Sheldon Weschler contact lens residency award in 2005. After her residency, Dr. Johns joined the Boston Foundation for Sight where she served as the senior optometrist for eight years designing and fitting specialty lenses and managing complex corneal disease. She collaborated with University of Rochester to correct higher order aberrations in keratoconus patients with scleral lenses.

Dr. Johns is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Education Society. She contributes to I-Site, a monthly international online newsletter. Dr. Johns is a member of the British Contact Lens Association. She serves as a clinical and educational consultant to the custom lab channel of Bausch + Lomb. Dr. Johns speaks nationally and internationally on specialty contact lenses, irregular corneas and severe ocular surface disease. In 2013 she returned to the New England College of Optometry as an adjunct assistant professor with the Contact Lens service.
