Lyle Mittelsteadt MD

Dr. Lyle Mittelsteadt, Assistant Executive Director, Professional Affairs, will be retiring from the AMA effective August 31, 2020.

Dr. Mittelsteadt joined the AMA in 2006, following a successful medical practice of over 30 years mostly in Fort Saskatchewan. His involvement with organized medicine goes back to that time, having served for six years on the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta Council, which included serving as CPSA Council president in 2000-2001.

Dr. Mittelsteadt has made many contributions during his time at the AMA as a member of the Senior Management Team. Based on his extensive experience, he has been a great help in identifying opportunities and helping to deal with challenges faced by the organization and its members. He and his staff have been great advocates for ensuring that the aspects of the AMA’s Mission related to medical professionalism remain strong.
