Luke Mountjoy, DO, is a double-board-certified, fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist who specializes in the treatment of lymphoid diseases with emphasis on lymphoma, leukemia, and stem cell transplant. A Denver, CO native, Dr. Mountjoy earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, during which time he worked as an EMT in the metro Denver area. He then earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Mountjoy then furthered his specialization with a medical oncology/hematology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, AZ.
During training, Dr. Mountjoy researched stem cell transplant and the prevention/management of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) extensively. He worked closely with the laboratory team to identify novel strategies of testing for drug resistance in patients undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma. Dr. Mountjoy was also part of a large research team that is actively working to identify genetic risk factors/predispositions in patients and families with newly diagnosed cancers.
