Dr. Botella has a degree in Biology (1980), French Philology (1984), and English Philology (1985) from the University of Valencia, obtaining a doctorate in Biology (extraordinary prize) in 1985. Postdoctoral stay at Lund University ( Sweden, department of genetics), postdoctoral fellow abroad Juan March 1986-1988. She holds the title of Radioactive Facility Operator, by the nuclear safety council. Responsible for the Radioprotection service of the CIB (CSIC). Scientific member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish HHT Association from 2007 to November 2015. Member of the genetic counseling committee of the FEDER (Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases) since 2012. Member of the General Research and Medical Advisory Board of the HHT International Foundation (GRMAB, HHT .org). In her work and professional career, Dr. Botella is a CSIC senior scientist from February 1989 to October 2007 and a CSIC researcher since November 2007, developing her work at the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), Center for Biological Research Institute (CIB), Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. He is also a delegate member of VASCERN's ePAG in European Vascular Networks representing patients. She is a researcher of the CIBER group in Rare Diseases, Clinical Genetics, U-707 assigned to said group since 2006, and since November 15, 2016, she is the main researcher of the CIBER U-707 group. In her activity as a researcher, the lines of research in rare diseases, molecular and cellular medicine, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, vascular and immune system pathophysiology, the study of rare cancer, von Hippel Lindau syndrome, angiogenesis, and tumor development dependent on constitutive expression of HIF; in vitro therapeutic trials and orphan drugs.
