Luigino Nascimben, M.D., Ph.D. received both his M.D. and Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacology from the Universita Degli Studi di Padova in Italy. He first joined Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 1997 as an Anesthesiology resident, and later went on to complete fellowships in Cardiac Anesthesia and Clinical Anesthesia. In 2008, Dr. Nascimben obtained the position of Director of Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement, and Patient Safety at Brigham and Women’s, Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. Dr. Nascimben’s clinical interests are quality and safety in the perioperative setting, cardiac anesthesia, cardiovascular imaging and pharmacology, and heart failure. He is also committed to clinical research and is currently the Principal Investigator of two multicenter clinical studies involving cardiac surgery patients.
