Lucy J. Puryear MD

Lucy J. Puryear, MD, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Menninger Department of Psychiatry, is board certified in psychiatry. Dr. Puryear holds the Maureen Hackett Endowed Chair for Reproductive Psychiatry. She serves as the Medical Director of The Women’s Place: Center for Reproductive Psychiatry and the Co-Director of The Menopause Center at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women.

Dr. Puryear earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her internship in psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine, followed by a residency in psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. She also completed training in psychoanalysis at the Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute.
