Lucie Carrier received her PhD in 1989 from GrenobleUniversityand her Habilitation (HDR) in 2000 from the Paris6 University. She is Director of Research CNRS since 2002 and Professor of “Functional Genomics of Cardiomyopathies” since 2011 in the Department of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology, Cardiovascular Research Center at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf,Germany.
She has spent a significant part of her Research career focussing on the genetics and pathophysiology of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). One of her main interests is the understanding of the molecular mechanisms by which mutations in MYBPC3 encoding cardiac myosin-binding protein C (cMyBP-C) lead to the development of HCM.
