Lucia Oliveira

Dr. Oliveira is an Assistant Professor for the UAB Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program. She has received her Bachelors in Science in Medical Technology from Brazil. She holds a Masters in Science (Biophysics), a Masters in Science in Public Health (Epidemiology) and a doctoral degree in Public Health (Global Health).

Ana has worked at UAB as a bench research scientist mainly in area of Infectious Diseases for many years and has also worked as a clinical researcher in the area of Rheumatology. In addition, Ana has worked in Public Health practice serving as a Senior Epidemiologist for the Alabama Department of Public Health where she was responsible for outbreak investigation and response, and communicable diseases surveillance.
