Luc F. Van Gaal MD, PhD

Prof Luc F. Van Gaal is Head of the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology, and Metabolism at the University of Antwerp, Antwerp, BE. In 1983, he obtained a specialist degree in internal medicine and afterward in endocrinology and metabolism. His main clinical and research interests are related to obesity, type 2 diabetes, and lipid metabolism. Prof Van Gaal is a board member of the Belgian Association for the Study of Obesity (BASO) and Past-President of the Belgian Diabetic Society.
