Dr. Prieto is employed by Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. She is a pediatric and adult congenital cardiologist within The Heart Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Prieto earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She then completed a residency in pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York City, followed by a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the same institution.
Dr. Prieto then pursued a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Her clinical interests include all types of transcatheter interventions for congenital heart disease in both children and adults. She also has extensive experience with transcatheter treatment of acquired pulmonary vein stenosis in post-ablation patients.
Dr. Prieto is board certified in pediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Prieto’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, she has written more than 10 book chapters, served as a reviewer for a variety of cardiology-focused publications and presented at conferences both nationally and globally. She has participated in mission trips to deliver medical care to underserved populations in Asia and Latin America, as well as volunteered her time to mentor disadvantaged youths interested in medical careers.
