Lourdes Ibanez Toda PhD

Lourdes Ibáñez, tenured-university lecturer of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona (UB), has received the National Award for Research 2014 conferred by the Government of Catalonia and the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRi). The award honours those researchers who have recently made a significant contribution on an international scale to the progress of a scientific discipline in any sphere.

Lourdes Ibáñez, lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Radiology and Anatomy at the University of Barcelona, has developed a twenty-five year research on paediatric endocrinology (the study of hormone-related conditions in children). Moreover, she has headed the research team on Adult-Age Disorders Originating in the Foetal Period or in the Early Years of Life of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona since 2008.
