Dr. Louise Jakubik is a pediatric nursing and workforce development expert. She is a seasoned national speaker, consultant, and author dedicated to building and developing nurses in clinical practice and leadership. She is a leading authority on the pediatric nursing certification review process, pediatric laboratory interpretation, nursing career development and mentoring. In June of 2014 Louise received the designation of Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) by the National Speakers Association; this is the highest international recognition for professional speakers. She is one of only 20 nurses in the world who have earned this designation.

Dr. Jakubik is the president, chief learning officer, and founder of Nurse Builders, a nursing consulting firm specializing in pediatric nursing education and practice. Dr. Jakubik is also the founder of the Nurse Mentoring Institute, an organization dedicated to preparing, supporting, and developing nurses and nursing organizations in the art, science, and wonder of mentoring. Her pediatric clinical practice experiences include a variety of roles including clinical nurse specialist, nurse practitioner and staff nurse.

Dr. Jakubik has authored over 25 books and scholarly articles. Her publications include the first book designed to prepare pediatric nurses for taking a pediatric nursing certification exam entitled, “Pediatric Nursing Certification Review,” the first laboratory interpretation guide specifically for pediatric nurses entitled, "Pediatric Laboratory Interpretation: A Guide for the Pediatric Nurse,” and a popular career guide for nurses and hospitals entitled “Nursing Career Development: Career Development Strategies for Nurses and Hospitals.” In addition, sheis the author of two nursing research instruments to measure the practices and benefits of mentoring in nursing.

Dr. Jakubik has more than 20 years of experience as a pediatric nurse working in a variety of roles. These roles include, staff nurse, pediatric nurse practitioner, and clinical nurse specialist. Dr. Jakubik’s2-day course, “Pediatric Nursing Certification Review,” is now in its 13th edition and has helped thousands of nurses across the United States to achieve certification in pediatric nursing with a passing rate of over 95%. Dr. Jakubik is known for her down-to-earth presentation style and her ability to make “hard content seem easy.”
