Mr. Saksen is responsible for the execution of the 1.326 billion New Parkland Hospital Campus. He manages a staff of vice presidents, directors, project managers, and liaisons. He also has the responsibility for coordinating with major divisions within the hospital, including administration, clinical operations, finance, information technology, strategic sourcing and internal audit. He has been with Parkland since June 2009, and has organized the management plan, recruited the staff and managed the overall progress since that time.

Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. Saksen held the senior facilities management position at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Stanford University Hospital, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, Ca., Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC, and Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Over the span of 40 years, Mr. Saksen has been responsible for over 3 billion in new construction including the programming, design, construction, occupancy, and the operation of seven hospitals, totaling 2167 beds.

He earned his Undergraduate Degree in Architecture from Catholic University, his Masters Degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech, and a second Masters in Psychology from Old Dominion University. He is a registered architect, and has been a healthcare architect and administrator since 1974. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects & the Health Facilities Institute.
