Dr. Loris Pegoli is head of the Sports Hand Center at Zucchi Wellness Clinic - Zucchi Clinical Institutes of Monza, head of the Hand Surgery Unit of the Villa Aprica Clinical Institute, and consultant hand surgeon at the La Madonnina Nursing Home.
His training began in 1984, the year in which he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Genoa and where he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 1999. Subsequently, he obtained a research fellow at the Center for Surgery of the Hand, of the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University in Boston, and in 2001 obtained a superspecialization in Hand Surgery and Microsurgery from Hirosaki University in Japan.
His fields of interest are the wrist and hand in particular Sports pathology, traumatic bone, tendon and nerve pathology, degenerative pathology, and tendon inflammatory pathology. Particular attention is paid to minimally invasive techniques, such as wrist and hand arthroscopy, and endoscopic techniques for the treatment of the carpal canal and trigger finger.
He has performed more than 5500 operations in the wrist and hand area as the first surgery in the last 5 years.
He is President of the World Society of Sports Medicine and Exercise. Since 2016 he is Coordinator of the Medical Commission of the National Fighting Association: he is Head of the Medical Staff of the Leone Petrosyan Team, head of the Hand Surgery service of J Medical, Turin, and for wrist and hand diseases for various football teams and teams national teams of various disciplines.
He is also Co-Founder and Past President of the World Research Institute for Sports Traumatology of the Hand, Founder of ISSPORTH, International Society for Sports Traumatology of the Hand, and President of the Fight Clinic.
In addition to participating in more than 100 national and international congresses on the theme "hand surgery", his scientific activity consists of the publication of dozens of works divided between national and international journals and book chapters.
Dr. Pegoli is also an ordinary member of the Italian Society of Hand Surgery and a member of other Societies including the European Society of Hand Surgery, the International Society of Sports Traumatology of the Hand, the Japanese Society of Hand Surgery, the Estonian Society of Hand Surgery and the European Society of Wrist Arthroscopy.
