Lori Porter, Ed.D., RDN, CAE is the Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Practice. In this role, she works with the College of Health Leadership Team, faculty, staff and community partners to develop and administer interprofessional collaborative activities. Dr. Porter’s research and area of interest is in Interprofessional Education and collaborative competency attainment in physician trainees and health professions. She also has an interest in team-based care and leadership in healthcare. Prior to working in academia.

Dr. Porter worked as the Director of Professional Standards at the American Board of Medical Specialties, Director of Educational Content Development at the American Association of Diabetes Educators, Director of Practice at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and as a Clinical Dietitian at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Humana Health Care. She is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Association Executive.

Dr. Porter received her Ed.D. from Northcentral University (Organizational Leadership), MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management (Marketing), and B.S. from Michigan State University (Dietetics). She completed her dietetic internship at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). She is also a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Institute of Organization Management (IOM), a professional development program focusing on nonprofit management.
