Lorenna Lourhance Moreira Vidal is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a Pediatric Neuroradiologist specializing in pediatric neuroimaging. She also serves as Associate Director of Quality and Safety in the Division of Neuroradiology, Associate Chair of Patient Safety in the Department of Radiology, and holds the Endowed Chair for Patient Safety in Radiology at CHOP. Dr. Vidal maintains active medical staff appointments at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Chester County Hospital, and Pennsylvania Hospital.
Dr. Vidal earned her MD from the Universidade Federal do Pará School of Medicine in Brazil in 2005. Her clinical expertise includes radiology, neuroradiology, and pediatric neuroradiology, while her research focuses on pediatric cerebral malaria, low-field and advanced MRI techniques, fetal MRI, and MRI safety. Her scholarly work includes research on neuroimaging findings in pediatric cerebral malaria, automated analysis of low-field brain MRI, and the development of MRI safety practices.
