Lorella Battelli received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Trieste, including research stints at Oxford and Harvard. She did postdoctoral training at Harvard Psychology Department and at the Harvard Medical School, Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation, where she is assistant professor of Neurology. Since 2008 she has been a Team Leader at the Italian Institute of Technology.

Dr. Battelli’s main research interest is central visual processing, particularly the role of the parietal lobe. Her lab combines studies with cerebral lesioned patients as well as TMS and tDCS to understand the neuronal mechanisms underlying visual attention and perception. Most recently, her lab has employed TMS and tDCS to treat attentional deficits and cortical blindness in stroke patients.
