Loic Moureau PhD

Loic Moureau holds a Master's degree in Theology and Religious Studies (Magna Cum Laude; KU Leuven, 2010) and in Philosophy (Magna Cum Laude; KU Leuven, 2012). He also completed an Academic Specific Teacher Training program at KU Leuven in 2014 and a management program focused on social profit (Summa cum laude, Vives Continue, 2024). Since September 2012, he has been a lecturer in Care Ethics, Philosophy, and RZL at various institutions and care programs within higher education. Since 2016, Loïc has been active as a staff member in the care sector, where he is responsible for the ethical policy (ethics committee, moral deliberation, ethical advice) of the facility. Quality and scientific research are also among his core responsibilities.

In 2025, Loïc defended his doctoral research (KU Leuven - BOF) on palliative care approaches, ethical aspects of care, and meaningful care for people with severe mental illness. He won the first prize for "Passion for Palliative Care" (2018) and won both the Audience Award and the Professional Jury Award for the work of the "Forum Crustatieve Zorg" at the Inspire Health & Care Awards (2022). He has secured various project funding for the care of people with severe mental health issues, including from KBS, the Z.orgfonds Zuster van Uxem, and Z.org KU Leuven.
