Dr. Loh Woei Shyang is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the National University Hospital, Singapore. Dr Loh obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore. He started his residency in Otolaryngology in Singapore in 1998 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Jan 2000. He went on to complete his residency in 2003 and continued to pursue a fellowship in Paediatric Otolaryngology in The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado, USA.
He is currently an ENT surgeon (Senior Consultant) in the National University Hospital, as well as a Visiting Consultant to Kadang Kerbau Women and Children Hospital.
Dr Loh is trained in all aspects of paediatric otolaryngology with special interests in otological disorders, airway and speech disorders in children. He also has extensive experience in cleft lip and palate management. Dr Loh also consults on adult ENT problems. He recently pioneered sialendoscopy in the department to better manage benign salivary gland diseases.
Dr Loh is an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore involving in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching. He is also a Member of Master of Medicine (Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery) Examination Committee. His research area is mainly pediatric otological problem as well as biofilm infection in ENT. One of his most recent grants is "Comparing Biofilm in nasal cavity and sinuses in chronic rhinosinusitis “prospective controlled study”.
