Professor Liz Kay, Clinical Director of Pharmacy at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, said: “Prior to the completion of the new facility outpatient pharmacy services were spread around the hospital in small, cramped facilities with poor waiting rooms and less space for the privacy needed when staff are advising patients about their medicines. “Our new central space is bright and modern and has been designed with the needs of our patients and pharmacy staff in mind. As well as giving a far better patient experience, bringing staff together in one location greatly improves team working, and our team are delighted with the space they have which makes such a difference to their working day.” Opening the facility, Mr Hartley paid tribute to the hard work of pharmacy staff and the planning team in creating the new facility and keeping the outpatient service running smoothly during the changeover.
