Liz Maria De Almeida Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (FM/UFRJ), she completed the Specialization course in Psychiatry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IPUB/UFRJ), the Specialization course in Public Health at the National School of Public Health of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (ENSP/FIOCRUZ), the Master's course in Public Health at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IMS/UERJ), the Doctorate course in Sciences at the University of São Paulo (FM/USP) and the Specialization Course in Health Management at COPPEAD at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She was Manager of the Population Research Division of the National Cancer Institute (INCA) from 2004 to 2019, Head of the Prevention and Surveillance Coordination of INCA from 2019 to 2023, Deputy General Director from October to December 2022, and Interim General Director from January to March 2023. She was a permanent professor in the Postgraduate Programs in Oncology and Public Health and Cancer Control at INCA. She has experience in the areas of Psychiatry and Public Health, with an emphasis on Epidemiology. She served as Brazil's focal point for the International Tobacco Surveillance System coordinated by the CDC/USA and PAHO/WHO from 2004 to 2010.
