Lis Evered has a Masters in Biostatistics and a Ph.D. in neuroscience and holds an NHMRC/ARC Dementia Research Fellowship through the University of Melbourne. Lisbeth is Head of Research at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. She has many publications in cognitive clinical research. Lisbeth is an invited speaker at many international conferences. She is Senior Editor for Anesthesia & Analgesia, Associate Editor for British Journal of Anaesthesia and a reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals.

She is the recipient of more than $8M in NHMRC grants and other competitive funding. Lisbeth is Chair of the International nomenclature consensus working party which has revised perioperative neurocognitive disorders from research to clinical guidelines. Dr. Evered is currently leading a large RCT investigating the impact of perioperative multi-component interventions on delirium and dementia outcomes. Her main area of research interest is identifying the impact of surgery and anesthesia on the cognitive trajectory of older individuals and identifying preoperative interventions to reduce delirium and long-term postoperative decline.
