Lisa McCorkell is the Co-Founder and Co-Lead of the Patient-Led Research Collaborative (PLRC) and a Long COVID patient researcher. In 2022, she was named to Nature's 10, a selection compiled by Nature's editors to highlight ten people who shaped science. Lisa has co-authored papers on labor, employment, social safety nets, Long COVID, and patient participation in research, including a major report, “Advancing Disability Equity and Access in TANF and SNAP for People with Long COVID.”
Lisa has advised the White House, CDC, NIH, and Senators Kaine and Pressley on their Long COVID proposals and plans, and participated in dozens of advocacy projects since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has a Masters in Public Policy from UC Berkeley and a BA in Political Science from UCLA. Her background is in public policy, public health, advocacy, writing, and research.
