Lisa DeBoer started out in the world of EMS in 1991 working for a private ambulance service, with dreams of becoming part of a medevac flight team one day. However, in April of 1993, after living through a horrific ambulance crash, Lisa's ideas about what she thought her future would look like were altered forever! What she used to call "the worst night of my life," ultimately put her on the path to becoming an EMS Director of Public Relations, entrepreneur, and finally the Co-Founder and President of Pedi-Ed-Trics Emergency Medical Solutions, LLC. Pedi-Ed-Trics is now one of the largest dedicated pediatric emergency education companies in the United States, and is actively taking a global direction, providing pediatric programs in Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and providing pediatric resource books and materials for nurses, medics, and respiratory therapists around the world. Helping to save the lives of children through education remains at the heart of all Lisa and her husband, Scott DeBoer, do on a daily basis.
Lisa has been presenting to local and national audiences for several years and since 2006 has been providing consulting services to small business start-ups. Lisa was the driving force (or as her husband calls it, the nagging force) behind the creation of their now most popular pediatric pig skills lab program mostly due to her own personal hands-on learning style. Scott and Lisa travel together with their team presenting Pediatric Practice, Procedures & Playtime: Emergency Hands-On Pig Labs all over the county. Lisa is the mother of two teenagers and has been married for over 20 years to Scott. She has a very relaxed and informal presentation style, but also an extremely passionate side that comes out during her presentations... Especially when it comes to EMS entrepreneurship and “making whatever changes are necessary to help save the lives of children.”
