Lisa Beth Weissmann MD

Lisa B. Weissmann, MD, is the hospital’s new chief of hematology/oncology. Weissmann previously served as Mount Auburn Hospital’s acting chief of hematology/oncology since 2011. The hospital, based in Cambridge, has a site in Waltham. Weissmann attended Harvard University and received her MD from New York University. She completed her postdoctoral education at Yale-New Haven Hospital and an oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Weissmann joined the medical staff at Mount Auburn Hospital in 1999. She is board certified in internal medicine and oncology and currently serves as an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. Over her years in practice, Weissmann has developed particular expertise in the treatment of breast cancer, serving on the Steering Committee of the Breast Cancer Team as well as on the Advisory Board of BreastCancer.org, according to the hospital.
