Dr. Lisa Baumbach-Reardon is an Associate Professor in the Integrated Cancer Genomics Division and the Co-Director of the Dorrence Clinical Laboratory at TGen. She is the Unit Head of the Breast Cancer Unit and the Muscular Disorder Unit. Dr. Baumbach is certified in Molecular and Biochemical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG).

She has been a leader in molecular genetics training for young scientists and currently holds an adjunct faculty position in the Molecular & Cellular Biology program at ASU. She has published numerous articles in the field of human molecular genetics, and currently serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for a number of scientific journals and grant review study sections. Her main research areas are the genetic basis of African-American breast cancer, and the molecular basis of a number of inherited neurological and neuromuscular diseases.

Dr. Baumbach-Reardon served for 20 years as a faculty member at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. She was an active member of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and served as graduate faculty in three graduate programs (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Cancer Biology; and Human Genetics). She serves on National Cancer Institute (NCI) study sections focused on cancer disparities.

In October 2010, she organized and chaired a session on breast cancer disparities at the national American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) conference on Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved.
