Liliana Thron is a Ph.D. candidate in Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Minnesota. Her research focuses on developing innovative cell-based therapies for the long-term suppression of HIV, working under the mentorship of Pamela Skinner and Branden Moriarity. During her doctoral training, Liliana has contributed to the development of next-generation CAR T and NK cell therapies engineered to more effectively target and eliminate HIV viral reservoirs.

She has also led preclinical evaluation of these therapies in HIV-infected humanized mouse models, advancing their potential for translational application. Her work is expected to result in multiple first-author publications, reflecting her contributions to the fields of immunotherapy and HIV cure research. Liliana is committed to advancing cell-based therapeutic strategies to address persistent viral infections and improve long-term patient outcomes.
