Liborio PARRINO is Associate Professor of Neurology, University of Parma. In 2017, he achieved the National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor in Neurology. He is Director of the School of Specialization in Neurology and Director of the Center of Sleep Medicine at the University Hospital of Parma, From 2012 to 2015 he served as President of the Italian Association of Sleep Medicine, while from 2014 to 2018 he was Chair of the Executive Committee of the Assembly of National Sleep Societies in Europe. He is Chair of the World Sleep Day Committee of the World Sleep Society (WSS) and Assistant Treasurer of the WSS Executive Committee. From the WSS, he received, the World Sleep Day Distinguished Activity Award in 2016 and 2017, and the Distinguished Services Award in 2017.

He is member of the Editorial Board of SLEEP DISORDERS, Session Editor (Images of Sleep Medicine - Video Clinical Corner) of SLEEP MEDICINE, Deputy Editor of the JOURNAL OF SLEEP RESEARCH and Associate Editor of FRONTIERS IN NEUROLOGY: SLEEP AND CIRCADIAN DISORDERS. He is member of the Faculty Board of the PhD Program in Neurosciences - University of Parma and University of Modena and Reggio. He is Scientific Consultant of the European Food Safety Agency and of the Department of Cardiovascular and Neurological Sciences of the University of Cagliari, Italy. He has co-authored over 200 scientific publications, articles and monographs on sleep medicine with a Scopus H-Index of 44.
