Liberto Brage Martin studied Medicine at the University of La Laguna, concluding with the qualification of Extraordinary End of Degree Award.
After completing the MIR exam, he specialized in Neurosurgery at the Hospital Universitario de Canarias, a hospital center where he is currently an Associate Physician of the Neurosurgery Service. He has completed his training in prestigious national and international centers Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Barrow Neurological Institute in the United States, and the Montreal Neurological Institute in Canada; subspecializing in Epilepsy Surgery. At the present moment, he develops his main activity in the Refractory Epilepsy Unit of the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.
He completed his doctoral thesis in the field of intraoperative cerebral neurophysiology, describing a novel technique that increases patient safety in certain surgical procedures that take place on the brain, with the result of Outstanding Cum Laude. She completed a Master's Degree in Bioethics (Official Degree) and has several University Expert Degrees including in Spinal Surgery. He is the author of numerous publications in high-impact Neurosurgery and Neurophysiology journals.
