Liane Bauer MBA, PhD

Dr. Liane Bauer is a Director AlinIQ & Enterprise Solutions Director at Abbott Diagnostics. She received her Diploma in Biology from the Julius-Maximilians-University in Wuerzburg, Germany, where she specialized on Biochemistry and performed her Diploma Thesis on Spinal Muscular Atrophy. After her study she did her PhD at the Max-Planck-Institute for Brain Research, where she worked in the Neurochemistry department, performing 3.5 years research on metabotropic Glutamate receptors. Subsequently Dr. Bauer decided to change her working field from the research lab to the industry and she worked for 2.5 years for a German Diagnostics company (QIAGEN) supporting laboratories in life science as well as diagnostics and applied testing.

She then took over a position at Abbott Diagnostics as Product Manager for the area Africa, Middle East, Turkey and India. During this time she specialized on Quality and Accreditation of Laboratories – giving lectures at several national/international congresses; working closely with the Westgard QC Company. From 2014 till 2017 as an Enterprise Solutions Director, Dr. Bauer mainly focuses on the strategic business development of large enterprise projects across Africa, Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan, where the focus is on modernizing and innovating Laboratories mainly driven by today’s healthcare trend towards consolidation/centralization and standardization of Hospital and Laboratory networks. She led during this time a cross functional organization including a commercial team and specialized teams for Informatics Technology, Laboratory Solution Design and Project Management. To further hone her business acumen and broaden her knowledge across industries she has successfully completed an Executive Master of Business Administration at the London Business School in 2016. Since May 2017 Dr. Bauer is responsible for the AlinIQ Portfolio, which consist of Informatics Solutions and Professional Services across EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) to drive both operational and integrated clinical care excellence.
