Leonard Bacharier MD

Dr. Leonard Bacharier, MD, is Professor of Pediatrics, Director of the Center for Pediatric Asthma Research, and Scientific Director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Research at Monroe J Carell Jr Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr Bacharier's research focuses on childhood asthma. Specifically, he is an investigator in several NIH-funded asthma programs, including the Inner City Asthma Consortium, ORBEX, and PrecISE, and the site Principal Investigator for the ALA-ACRC.

Dr Bacharier is also currently investigating the role of early infection with Respiratory Syncytial Virus in the subsequent development of asthma. Dr Bacharier is an associate editor for The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a member of the GINA Science Committee, and Chair of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
