Dr. Stanley Qi is an assistant professor in Department of Bioengineering, Department of Chemical & Systems Biology, and a faculty member in ChEM-H. He obtained B.S. in Physics and Math from Tsinghua University, China, M.A. in Physics from UC Berkeley, and a joint Ph.D. in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley and UCSF. He was a Systems Biology Fellow (independent PI) at UCSF, and joined Stanford University in 2014. He developed the dCas9 technology for non-editing genome engineering, including CRISPR interference (CRISPRi) for sequence-specific transcription regulation and dCas9 for genome imaging in living cells.
